Sunday 14th December - end of term
Friends of Essex Dance Theatre (our parent support group) have been successful in their application for the Jack Petchey achievement award. The Silver level award will give out six awards of £200 each year (£1,200). The scheme is a reward and recognition initiative which enables schools and youth organisations to celebrate the achievements of their young people as well as receive additional funding.
When a winner is selected they are publicly congratulated for their achievement and receive:
•A framed certificate and badge
•Membership of the JPF Achievers community
•£200 to be spent on something of their choice that will benefit EDT (for example, a piece of equipment, a day out for the team, a specialist trainer to come in give a session)
The students who receive the awards will decide what they would like the money to be spent on.
Our first winner of the award is Megan Pellicci who is the Call 2 Performing Group girls captain & a student teacher. Megan voluntarily gives up two evenings a week & all day Saturday to support the teachers with the younger students. She has decided the first £200 award is going towards a group trip to see one of our students Ollie Jochim in his role as Billy Elliot in December.
